Isoselective Ring-Opening Polymerization of rac-Lactide Catalyzed by Simple Potassium Amidate Complexes Containing Polycyclic Aryl Group

The isoselective ring-opening polymerization of rac-LA is a challenging goal. In this work, series potassium amidate complexes (K1–K10) were easily prepared and characterized using the 1H/13C NMR spectrum. molecular structures K2 K10 determined by X-ray diffraction, which showed that both two-dimensional coordination polymers due to adjacent π interactions aryl. presence benzyl alcohol (BnOH), all exhibited high catalytic activity toward L-lactide rac-LA, yielding linear polylactides capped with BnO or CH3O end groups. A significant solvent effect on ROP L-LA was observed, superior efficiency in toluene than THF CH2Cl2. These are iso-selective act as active catalysts for controlled rac-lactide, Pm from 0.54 0.76. This rare example simple alkali metal rac-lactide. substituent greatly affected monomer conversion isoselectivities.
